The first meeting of the Data Science Group for Language Researchers will be held on Oct. 30 (Mon.) from 4-5PM in the Phonetics Lab (Moore 162).
Geoff LaFlair from Second Language Studies will be leading this meeting, with a talk on “Project management with R Studio and Git.”
The meeting is open to anyone who is interested in learning about improving quantitative research and data management skills for language-related research. Please contact Bradley Rentz for more information or to be added to the group’s emailing list.
Please join us as we continue our new series of ‘Faculty Showcase Talks’ with presentations by
Richard Day (Professor, SLS) and JD Brown (Professor, SLS).
Presenters will talk about the bigger questions that motivate their research, and illustrate how they are addressing these questions with an example of their current work. Each talk will be followed by a Q&A period. These talks are designed to be accessible to everyone in the Department of Second Language Studies and beyond, from undergrads to department chairs. Come and learn what your professors and colleagues are doing behind those closed office doors, and how their work may relate to questions that you are interested in!
