Wikipedia is the 7th most-visited site on the internet, but a lot of its information about linguistics and underdocumented languages is incomplete, out of date, or could be translated into other languages.
LDTC Wikipedians organize periodic Wikipedia Edit-a-thons, wherein we get together and edit Wikipedia articles together. Anyone is welcome to join; no Wikipedia experience necessary!
Here are the results from our previous Edit-a-thons:
Edit-a-thon #1 – Saturday, April 14 – Sunday, April 15 2017 (Saturday at Teaspresso)
Urls of articles created, improved, or translated in this editathon:
Edit-a-thon #2 – Saturday, September 2 – Tuesday, September 5, 2017 (Saturday at Coffee Talk)
This Wikipedia Edit-a-thon was bigger! We had 11 people participate in person on Saturday. Some of them continued to work on their Wikipedia edits throughout the long weekend. All were Linguistics students with ties to LDTC. Eight people had edited Wiki articles before, while three were new to the task. Here are the urls of articles created, improved, or translated in this editathon:
We hope you join us for our next Wikipedia Edit-a-thon!
