Ultimately, my primary interest is in the answer to the question: “What is a possible natural language?” (and by corollary “What is not a possible natural language?”), which I see as one of the two Holy Grails of linguistics as an area of scientific inquiry, the other being “Why do humans have language but other species (it seems) don’t?”
