The Linguistic Society of Hawai`i (LSH) is the organization of linguistics students and faculty at the University of Hawai`i at Manoa. LSH participates in the International Conference on Language Documentation and Conservation (ICLDC), student conferences on campus, sponsors various social events, and holds fundraisers during the academic year.
LSH is registered independent organization (RIO) of the University of Hawai`i and also serves to represent Linguistics students in organizations such as the Graduate Student Organization (GSO) and with a student representative at faculty meetings.
LSH serves to support the members of the Linguistics department, including faculty and both Graduate and Undergraduate students interested in Linguistics. Membership dues are collected each academic year and are $20 for graduate students, $0 for undergraduate students, and $35 for faculty.
LSH holds meetings twice each semester which are announced via the linguistics emailing list and on our Facebook page. LSH is entirely run by Graduate students and officers are elected each academic year.
